Lambton Baby Point

Location & Borough

Lambton Baby Point is a residential neighbourhood in the borough of York, situated in the Humber River valley bend between Bloor Street West and Dundas Street West. The Baby Point section is one of Toronto's most exclusive residential enclaves — a private, gated (informally) residential district developed on the site of a historic First Nations village and the home of the Baby family in the early 19th century. It pairs with the more accessible Lambton neighbourhood to the west.

Character & Vibe

Baby Point has a character unlike anywhere else in Toronto: large Edwardian and Arts and Crafts homes on curving, wooded streets above the Humber River valley, a private residents' club (Baby Point Club), and a sense of removal from the city that borders on the magical. The natural setting — Humber Valley ravine on multiple sides — creates an almost rural sense of enclosure within an urban neighbourhood. This is an extremely low-turnover area where properties and rentals are almost never available.

Transit

No subway stations within the boundary, with 23 bus stops. The 89 Weston bus and 46 Martin Grove bus provide connections to the Bloor-Danforth line. Transit is functional but the neighbourhood's position in the river valley means some walking is required.

Landmarks & Amenities

Amenities are extremely minimal — 6 dining options, 1 grocer, 2 fitness studios. This is a residential neighbourhood where daily shopping requires a short drive or transit ride to the Bloor West Village or Runnymede commercial strips. The Baby Point Club is available exclusively to residents.

Parks & Green Space

Twelve parks, anchored by Lambton Park and the extraordinary Humber Valley ravine system. The multi-use trail along the Humber River connects south to Lake Ontario and north to the Greenbelt. Baby Point Road itself provides ravine views. This is one of the greenest settings of any Toronto neighbourhood.

Dining & Nightlife

Six restaurants and no nightlife venues — this neighbourhood is not anyone's dining destination. Bloor West Village (5–10 minutes by bus) provides an exceptional restaurant and café strip for daily needs.

Schools

One school within the boundary. Families send children to schools in adjacent Bloor West Village and Runnymede neighbourhoods.

Rental Market

With only 2 listings, this neighbourhood is essentially not a rental market. The average of $23,925 is heavily distorted by a $47,000 listing — the actual range is $850–$47,000, which suggests one basement apartment and one extraordinary luxury rental. Anyone looking to rent in Baby Point should expect extreme scarcity and should act immediately on any available listing.

Who It's Best For

Extremely high-income renters seeking Toronto's most private and natural residential setting. Those with personal connections in the Baby Point community. Humber Valley trail enthusiasts who want to live at the trailhead.
