Flemingdon Park is a Neighbourhood Improvement Area (NIA) in the Borough of North York, situated east of the Don Valley and south of Eglinton Avenue East. Built in the 1960s as one of Canada's first planned residential communities, it's a high-density neighbourhood of apartment towers set in parkland — an urban planning model rarely replicated.
The neighbourhood is one of Toronto's most diverse and immigrant-serving communities. It has a strong Persian/Iranian community alongside South Asian, East African, and Caribbean populations. The planned parkland between towers gives it a more spacious feel than most high-rise neighbourhoods, even if commercial services are limited.
Transit
Three subway stations (on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, now partially open) and 49 bus stops give Flemingdon Park improving transit connectivity. The Eglinton Crosstown stations at Flemingdon Park/Gateway and Science Centre station are transforming accessibility in this area.
