Cliffcrest
Borough: Scarborough | Lakeside bluffs neighbourhood with strong parks and family character
Cliffcrest is in southern Scarborough, situated on the plateau above the Scarborough Bluffs between Kingston Road and the lake. It borders Birchcliffe-Cliffside to the west and shares the Bluffs access that makes this stretch of Scarborough distinctive. It is one of the quieter, more established residential areas in southern Scarborough.
Character and Vibe
Cliffcrest is a stable, family-oriented residential neighbourhood with a mix of bungalows, two-storey homes, and some mid-rise apartment buildings near Kingston Road. The community is established, with long-term residents and lower turnover. The Bluffs proximity adds a natural amenity that the housing stock — mostly from the 1950s to 1970s — was designed to complement. It has a suburban character with a strong community identity.
Transit
No subway stations, but 72 bus stops provide coverage. Kingston Road buses connect to Kennedy station and the broader Scarborough network. Travel to downtown is 50–70 minutes.
Amenities and Dining
Twenty-one dining options and 9 grocery stores are adequate for the neighbourhood's suburban density. One nightlife venue and 1 healthcare provider within the strict boundary is modest — Kingston Road's commercial strip just north provides considerably more. One fitness studio and one library serve the community.
Parks and Green Space
Sixteen parks including direct access to the Scarborough Bluffs Park and Cathedral Bluffs Park system. The bluff-top trail system and the dramatic views from the cliffs are among the best natural amenities in all of Toronto.
Schools
Ten schools serve the neighbourhood — reflecting the long-standing family character.
Rental Market
With 49 listings and an average of $2,180 and median of $2,100, rents are moderate for southern Scarborough. The range ($600–$3,900) reflects diverse unit types. Detached and semi-detached house rentals are common.
Who It's Best For
Cliffcrest is ideal for families who want Bluffs access, a quiet residential environment, and strong schools in southern Scarborough at moderate rents. It is a calmer, more spacious alternative to Birchcliffe-Cliffside at slightly lower prices.
